Cheese Omelet Recipe

Omelets are a versatile and satisfying dish that can be customized with various ingredients. Here are two delicious omelet recipes: one classic and one with a creative twist.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives, or basil)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Eggs:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or water, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy.
  2. Cook the Omelet:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter or oil. Once melted and hot, pour in the egg mixture.
    • Let the eggs cook undisturbed for a few seconds, then gently tilt the pan and use a spatula to push the cooked edges toward the center, allowing the uncooked eggs to flow to the edges.
    • When the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle the cheese and herbs over one half of the omelet.
  3. Fold and Serve:
    • Fold the omelet in half over the filling using a spatula. Cook for another 30 seconds to a minute, or until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully cooked but still soft.
    • Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately, garnished with extra herbs if desired.
